About Thomas & Betts, our Parent Company
Thomas & Betts Corporation, incorporated in 1917, is a designer and manufacturer of electrical components used in industrial, commercial, communications, and utility markets. The Company also produces highly engineered steel structures, used primarily for utility transmission and commercial heating units. It has operations in approximately 20 countries. Manufacturing, marketing, and sales activities are concentrated primarily in North America and Europe. Thomas & Betts sells its products through many channels: electrical, utility, telephone, cable, and heating, ventilation and air-conditioning distributors; mass merchandisers, catalog merchandisers and home improvement centers, and directly to original equipment manufacturers, utilities and certain end-users. It classifies its products into three segments: Electrical, Steel Structures, and Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (HVAC).

The Surge Protection business platform offers premium hardwired surge protection solutions for the new construction, retro-fit and telecom OEM sectors, leveraging over 80 years of industry experience from Current Technology and Joslyn. A comprehensive layered scheme is the best way to provide the facility-wide surge protection. Understanding the intended applications and the nature of the loads the TVSS is protecting is first step in selecting the correct type and level of surge protection you need for your facility.

Thomas & Betts Power Solutions’ headquarters and manufacturing operations are housed in a new 100,000 square foot facility near Richmond International Airport in Richmond, VA. Our R&D and test labs are UL certified and manufacturing cells are equipped with digital quality management technology, operated by highly skilled technical associates.
